PIXI Book of Beauty Minimal Makeup (P1,290) palette was included on my Perfectly Pixi Glamourbox last month. I’ve been very excited about it because of its cute packaging. HAHA. Also, it has everything you need; from eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer to highlighters.
If you’ve read my previous post, I’ve mentioned that Pixi uses natural ingredients so this is great even with those who have a sensitive skin. Also, their products are cruelty-free so it’s a plus!
“This curated collection creates a stunning and sophisticated look for complexion & eyes. Whether you are a makeup minimalist or just in the mood for some subtle enhancing, you’ll love the satin luminosity that these favourites create.”

On Pixi’s website, the palette is said to be an ”easy-to-use” palette that has everything you need for that “barely there” look! I’m not really into minimal looks because I love bold lipsticks, bold eye liners, etc. Haha. But sometimes, a minimal makeup look is what you need especially when you’re in a hurry or you just want to run some quick errands. So let’s see if this palette is great for this kind of look!
PIXI Book of Beauty Minimal Makeup Swatches
First of all, I love the packaging of this product. It’s what attracted me to it in the first place. It’s in a sturdy cardboard packaging and is in its brand color trademark which is in pastel light green and hint of pastel pinks. I just love it!
First, let’s go with the highlighters. The palette has a pearly white and subtle gold highlighters in it. I’m a bit scared of the pearly white highlight though because it’s very light for my skin tone. As for the subtle gold, it works well on me. What I don’t like about them is that there are small chunks of glitter in it. At the end of the day, those glitter transfers to other parts of my face which I really hate. 🙁
The blush is in a peachy pink shade while the other is also supposed to be a blush but I use it as a bronzer. I love how these blends well on my skin. This has a very subtle color though. I apply it twice or thrice on my skin so it shows a bit more. I love how it looks on me. Very subtle and natural-looking. The only thing that I don’t like is, it’s very powdery so you need to tap off your brush every time you apply it.
As for the eye shadows, there are two sets; one for shimmery and one for matte shades. I love the shimmery shades because it’s very pigmented. I noticed that it doesn’t apply well with brushes though. I tried to apply it using my fingers and the color payoff is way better.
As for the matte shades, I don’t know how I feel about them. Haha. They are very powdery and the cream shade doesn’t show up on my skin. I use it to set my eye primer while I use the brown shade as a transition color. It works but I’m not really into it.

PIXI Book of Beauty Minimal Makeup Verdict
Overall, the Pixi Book of Beauty Minimal Makeup palette is good for a No-Makeup Makeup look. They are very subtle but still gives your face a beautiful natural look. They are also very easy to blend except for the shimmery eye shadows which are best applied with your finger.
However, what I didn’t like about it is most of the powders are very powdery. When I tapped on the packaging, I can see the powders loosening so there’s a tendency that you’ll say goodbye to these powders once you dropped the palette. Also, the staying power is only 2-4 hours on my combination to oily skin. I just hope it lasts longer. 🙁
So will I repurchase? I think not. It’s really good for its price because you’ll get everything you need but it just doesn’t stay long on my skin. So yeah, nope.
