Maybelline Fit Me Concealer Review

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Concealer has never been part of my makeup regimen. I’m not sure why but I just don’t bother covering up small imperfections on my face except for my dark under eye circles; which my Happy Skin Eye Need a Miracle Corrector has already taken care of. However, when I was about to have my period, a huge zit emerged on my forehead! The horror. I usually just leave my zits alone but this one is an attention seeker. So, I decided to have a concealer on makeup stash.

Since I am not very familiar with concealers yet, I decided to buy the affordable ones first. I initially planned to purchase one of the L.A. Girl HD Concealers but unfortunately, they were out of stock and the Sales Assistant told me they were not sure when they’ll receive new stocks again. I went to the Department Store instead and that’s when I saw the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (P299).

I’ve read online that these were great dupes for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers. So of course, I picked one up and got the Sand Sable shade. There were only three shades available when I checked and it was Light Leger, Sand Sable and Medium Moyen. I’m not really good at picking the right shade for my skin tone. HAHA. So I got the Sand Sable which is lighter than my skin tone so I can also use it for highlighting.

The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer doesn’t have any smell which I like. The texture is indeed creamy but it sets quickly so be careful and blend it properly. I first applied it on my under eyes, a wee bit on my forehead, the bridge of my nose and on my chin. The shade is a tad bit lighter on me so it’s perfect to use it to highlight.

As for the packaging, the product is encased in a plastic tube and it looks a lot like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers. It looks a bit cheap for me but, hey, it’s really affordable! This comes with a doe foot applicator and is very lightweight so you can just place it on your makeup kit for traveling.

The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer stays up to 6 hours on my oily to combination skin. It has a lightweight formula and it doesn’t suck out the moisture on my under eyes as well. Also, since the Sand Sable shade has a bit of peachy color in it, it covered my dark circles decently. As per their website, this concealer has no oils or waxes which make it comfortable for the skin.

What I did not like about this is it tends to crease and it settles into fine lines a bit. It also doesn’t really help covering up blemishes or pimple scars because of its lightweight to medium coverage. Another thing is, the shade selection is limited.

Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Ozokerite, Phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulfate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Methylparaben, Acrylates copolymer, Alumina, Butylparaben, Aluminium Hydroxide, Tocopherol, Silica, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract /- (CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, CI 77491/CI 77492/CI 77499/Iron Oxides, CI 77019/Mica)

Verdict

Overall, I think Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a great concealer for its price. It worked well for me and I think this is perfect if you just want to cover up minor blemishes or use it to highlight. I will even purchase the Medium Moyen shade if the L.A. Girl HD Concealers are not yet available because I think I can use it when I’m in a hurry and doesn’t want to use a base makeup.
