I have natural sparse eyebrowsย paired with a natural wide forehead. If I go out of the house without any eyebrow filler, I will look like an alien from outer space.ย HAHA. Also, I do not know how to groom my eyebrows and I’m not sure what shape suits me. So I always draw my brows with different shapes daily. What makes it even more disgusting is that my brow hairs is scattered all over.
I once saw a salon offering brow reshaping. I thought to give it a try but since the salon was not known, I was too scared to do it. That’s why I did research online and I happen to read reviews about Benefit’s Brow Bar. They shape, wax and groom your brows there. Most of the reviews I’ve read are good and since it’s a known brand, I decided to give it a try.
I was nervous at first since this would be my first time to have my brows waxed. I have tried threading before and even though I have high pain tolerance, I can’t avoid to shed some tears. It was a traumatic experience especially when the result was horrible. They over thread my brows. ๐ But since I was very desperate to have my brows groomed, I took the risk.
I’ve read that the branch at Greenbelt 5 has really great service but since it is too far from our place, I decided to visit their branch at Megamall instead. As usual, my boyfriend spoke to the aesthetician on my behalf. HAHA. She was glad to assist me and asked me a series of questions regarding my skin regimen or skin condition before proceeding with the process.
She then started to clean and map my eyebrows to a shape that suits me. She used brow zings to map it. She also did a brow cut on some areas. I would suggest to tell them what you like so you won’t get disappointed in the end. In my case, I just let her do what she thinks that would look best on me since I, myself do not know my eyebrow’s shape.
After my brow’s shape was determined, it’s wax time! I was very nervous at first because I do not know how much pain to expect. They used a different kind of wax. It has a clear color and is said to have moisturizing properties. The aesthetician first tested the wax on my inner wrist to make sure it’s tolerable. She then started waxing my brows. I was amazed because I felt NO pain at all! It was just tingly after every wax strip is being pulled but nothing else after that. Phew! I felt so relieved.
I do not normally talk to Sales Assistants or aestheticians because I do not know how to start a conversation(introvert problems) but good thing she didn’t pressure me. HAHA. She didn’t make me feel awkward by being silent but at the same time, she was friendly enough to smile and even advised me to put castor oil on my sparse eyebrows to help in hair growth.
After waxing, she continued to pluck my brows to make sure the shape is even. She then continued to remove the outline she made earlier and placed a cold compress on the waxed areas. She let it sit for awhile and removed it. She then gave me a loyalty card with freebies when you continue to avail further brow sessions. She also asked me if I would like to fill my brows and I just nodded my “yes” HAHA.
The aesthetician then gave me a mirror to look at the finished product and I was very happy to see the result! Not only do I have groomed eyebrows, I now know what shape to follow when I do my brows! Yey!
Overall, I am happy and satisfied with the service and experience. I will definitely return in case I need help again. You may avail Benefit’s Brow Wax for P650. They also have other waxing services you may want to try.
Do you need help on your eyebrows too? Tell me how you solved it!
Update (July 31, 2017): Eyebrow waxing is now P700.ย

I’ve been wanting to try this. I really need to fix my brows now.
10 April 2016 at 2:02 PMHAHA. Give it a try now! ๐
10 April 2016 at 6:31 PMI had my brows shaped when I booked a make up session at Piandre Salon. Been reshaping them on my own but will definitely give Brow Bar a try ๐ Thanks for sharing!
10 April 2016 at 2:16 PMYou’re most welcome! I envy you. I still don’t know how to groom my brows all by myself. ๐
10 April 2016 at 6:34 PMYour eyebrows look amazing! Seems like a very interesting place. Thanks for sharing this! ๐
10 April 2016 at 2:36 PMThanks very much! ๐
10 April 2016 at 6:30 PMSeriously? So waxing is not limited to … anyway … Sometimes I find it strange, perhaps because I am a man, that there’s brow waxing. I would have thought this can be done at home?
10 April 2016 at 2:54 PMMaybe, but it’s scary. They might wax their brows off entirely! hahaha
10 April 2016 at 6:33 PMSuch lovely brows you have. I also heard about this Brow Bar quite recently and I’ve read several reviews about it. I am interested to try it, too!
10 April 2016 at 3:36 PMI’ve never tried brow waxing and never attempted to, because I grew up having my eyebrows thread. Of course, there are times that it was not properly shaped since I tried a new salon which I’m not accustomed to. However, I found one to my liking which was Browhaus. I also like Brow Lounge.
10 April 2016 at 4:25 PMI heard Browhaus has great service too! I’m afraid of threading though. It hurts a lot. Lol
10 April 2016 at 6:28 PMYour brows did turn out to be nicely shaped although I find it too thick. If ever I go there and have them do my brows and I find the result too thick, will they redo it?
10 April 2016 at 7:04 PMIve been shaving my brows all by myself and its not “pantay” hahaha..i wish to try this too! Yours was nicely done!
10 April 2016 at 11:45 PMI never really give my brows much consideration one way or the other. I think they look fine just the way they are! ๐
11 April 2016 at 2:55 AMLooks good! Id love to try them out some time although I do have trouble finding Benefit at megamall sometimes haha. Big big big mall 😜
11 April 2016 at 4:30 AMTell me my comprehension was wrong.. did they really waxed your entire eyebrows? I felt strange reading this. Haha
11 April 2016 at 7:02 AMHaha. They didn’t they just shaped my brows and waxed the stray hairs.
11 April 2016 at 8:11 PMWow, neat but I think it’s quite thick. Someone did my eyebrows like that many commented on FB about its thickness.
In a different light, I noticed though that there are so many brow bars all over Manila. People there seem very keen about grooming their brows. Here in Bacolod, I have yet to find one, though there are many good salon attendants who can do the shaping for us. ๐
11 April 2016 at 3:21 PMYes, they are actually quite thick in this picture. HAHAHA. It was my fault though. That picture was taken a day after my brow bar experience. When they shaped my brows, it was not thick but the next day, I do not know how to draw them the same as they did. ๐
11 April 2016 at 4:02 PMDid you see any guy customer? Im curious hahahah. Anyway, thinking of it I assume that’s going to be painful but you said that it was not. If I did this this thing someday. I’m goinh to remember this post. The result was awesome:)
11 April 2016 at 4:34 PMI was the only customer back then but they offered the service to my boyfriend so …. yeah. Haha.
11 April 2016 at 8:13 PMthis brow waxing is cool, but unfortunately i have a very thin brows that they almost look absent. lol! reason why i never attempt to shave it or pluck, i might look like monaliza if i’d try this. 😂
11 April 2016 at 7:54 PMI feel you! I have little to non existing brows. Hahaha. So I always draw every day.
11 April 2016 at 8:15 PMI am a fan of the brand. I believe that eyebrows greatly contribute to a person’s appearance.
12 April 2016 at 6:17 PMMe too! I always focus on my brows every time I do my makeup specially since I have thin to non-existent brows hahaha
