Althea Philippines Shopping Guide + Experience

Althea Philippines

I already heard about Althea Korea before it was officially launched here in the Philippines. I even promoted it on social media. Haha. However, I was unable to purchase because I was hesitant. I’ve read tons of good reviews online but I never got the chance to try it – until now.

I’ve mentioned on my previous post about the Etude House Face Mask Challenge, that I recently became obsessed with Korean skincare products. This helped me decide to finally shop at Althea Philippines. You can purchase Korean makeup, skincare and much more for a lower price from them, and take note – they are sent straight from Korea to your doorstep!

I used my boyfriend’s account to shop at their website so I can get a referral bonus once the code is used on its first purchase. 😀 Before, you will get P150 points upon signing up and you can use a referral code to finally get a total of P200 discount on your first purchase.

A couple of days later after my purchase, I learned that it’s Althea Philippines‘ birthday and I missed a lot of promotions. 🙁 Also, they changed the welcome gift system to new customers who sign up on their website. Unfortunately, I was only able to take advantage of the old one so I only got a total of P200 off on my first purchase. 🙁

The new member gift system will now be P150 automatic credits upon sign up, another P150 rebate for a minimum purchase of P1000 and you can get an additional P50 once you click on a friend’s referral link upon purchase.

*Update (June 1, 2018): The new member welcome gift has changed. “During your checkout, simply enter the code NEW-PH to enjoy a 15% off discount on your first order (P150). As a bonus, you also get P1 rebate point for every P6 spent towards your next purchase (max P150)!” – Althea PH

Updated (June 1, 2018): These are the steps to receive the discount that I got from their blog:

  • Sign up with Althea and make sure you’re logged in.
  • Add items to your bag, then proceed to checkout.
  • If you’re using a referral code, get your friend to send you their link to get a discount code. If you want to redeem the welcome gift instead of a referral code, type in NEW-PH into the Coupon Code section. Make sure the discount is reflecting before you proceed.
  • Click “Checkout” and proceed to the payment section.

Althea Philippines

After registering, you can now start shopping and adding items to your bag! It’s really easy. Just click on the product you want to purchase and it will lead you to a page with more details about the product and reviews. To finally add the product to your bag, just click on ADD TO BAG and click on ADD TO WISHLIST if you want to save it for later.

Althea Philippines

Once you’ve decided to complete your purchase, just on the BAG at the upper right corner of your screen. It will then take you to the checkout page with all of your items. You will see the amount, subtotal, the discounts and the grand total of your purchase.

There are tons of payment methods to choose from: you can use your MasterCard, VISA or American Express cards. Now, not all of us have any of these cards. No worries, you can pay over the counter or through online banking through DragonPay (Over the counter banks, online banking, convenient stores like LBC, etc.). You can also use PayPal(I remember this is the only payment method when Althea first launched). Finally, you can opt to use Cash on Delivery (Temporarily Unavailable as of July 21, 2016) but please take note that you can only use this method with purchases of P2000 and below.

Update (8/18/2017): Cash on Delivery is back and now available!

Once your order is complete, you will receive an email with the status of your order. You will receive an email with your order confirmation, another one notifying you that your order is in the process and finally, you’ll receive another email once it’s shipped off and you’ll get a tracking number with it.

[bctt tweet=”There are tons of payment methods to choose from…” username=”ainiekatrine”]

Althea Philippines vows to have free international shipping on all orders with a total of P1500 or more. They also guarantee the authenticity of their products. You may be wondering why their prices are lower than the retail prices at the store, that is because they are directly working with the brands they cater.

They also have the 30-Day Unconditional Returns wherein you can send your item back within 30 days if you are not satisfied with it. Finally, they promise to carefully pack your items before delivery and guarantees a 10-15 days delivery timeline.

In my experience, I received my purchase after 8 days. No complaints. They delivered days before their promised timeline. What I noticed though which made me a little frustrated was their courier’s tracking system. I completed my order on July 15, 2016(Friday) and received an email saying it was already shipped on July 18, 2016(Monday). Of course, I was so excited!

Althea Philippines Tracking

However, you can see above that there are updates on the 18th and 19th of July only. The next and final update would be on the day of the delivery which was on July 22nd. So you will have zero knowledge of the whereabouts of your package in between those dates.

As for the delivery, my boyfriend used his office address for the delivery. They did notify him that the package will be delivered that day. What frustrates him was that the delivery man didn’t go to the 19th floor which was indicated on the delivery address.

There were lots of confusion at first until finally, they decided to meet up outside the building. He said he can’t leave his motorbike outside as it might be towed. -_- So how come the rest can go up and deliver a package on that floor except him? Well, at least he apologized and I finally got my package!

The verdict on Althea Philippines’ Service

Overall, I am satisfied with their service. Aside from lower prices and quality products, we also received prompt replies from their staff when we sent emails inquiring about our package. I will definitely purchase from them again! 😀 If you’re wondering about the products that I purchased from Althea Philippines, I will write a different post for that. This is becoming a novel already. HAHA

Hope this post will help those who are still hesitating to purchase. For those who would like to purchase as a first-timer, you may also use my link to receive an additional P50 discount: (The referral system has changed and the link won’t work anymore. Please see update below.)

Do you have a product from Althea Philippines that you would like me to review? Please let me know in the comment section below! 🙂

I’ve heard that they do give freebies to random customers before. I’m not sure if they still do. Unfortunately, for me, I never got one. Lol

And is it this method available again now?

Hi, SC! During my recent purchase on December 24th, I didn’t see the Cash On Delivery option. So I guess it’s not yet available as of the moment.

    Thanks for this! I’ve been looking forward to ordering from Althea for so long, but I was never sure on how to pay without a paypal account nor a credit/debit card 🙁 This really helped me out! I’ll just ask one thing though – does the DragonPay payment option mean we can pay through the banks here in the PH? (Like BDO, BPI, whatnot) I’m having a hard time dealing with banks ;-;

Hi! I just ordered from Althea and my payment method is through Cebuana Lhuiller and I have not receive any confirmation email on the status of my order. I have not paid yet. Do you know if I am get the email after I pay? Because in BeautyMNL I always receive an email even though I haven’t paid yet so I’m a little worried that my order did not go through yet Cebuana issued a reference number for me.

Hi, Marian! I’m not sure because I haven’t tried paying via Cebuana yet. I suggest to login to your account to see if there’s a pending order. 🙂

Update: Tried to purchase via Cebuana to test it out. I didn’t receive an email confirmation from Althea as well. Just the payment details and reference number from Dragonpay.

For Dragonpay payments, you only need to provide the reference number to make payment. ? If you are asked to provide an account number/name, please ask you bank for Dragonpay payments or contact Dragonpay at dragonpay.ph/about as payment is under them
. ? If you still enocunter problem with paying via Dragonpay, we suggest reordering and selecting another payment method or contact althea at help@althea.kr po ?

Update (07/29/2017): Just put DragonPay as account name/receiver. 🙂

Hi, Hyanea! I don’t think you can. I would suggest to reorder. If you used some of your points, I would wait for the order to be cancelled after a few hours and reorder. 🙂

Hello po! I just wanna ask if there is any way I can still change my method of payment? I ordered last Friday and went to the bank yesterday (Sunday) to pay for it but unfortunately the ATM machine had a problem. The voucher says it’s only valid until 11:59PM yesterday so I decided to wait for it and just change my method of payment, I thought my order will be cancelled by then but its status is still ‘Awaiting Payment’.

I don’t know how to get a new ref. number and change my method of payment because the only action available is to ‘Reoder’. 🙁 I’m afraid that if I reorder, I would have to pay for the last one and the new one I reordered. Please help, Althea’s not replying yet.

    22 May 2017 at 12:49 PM
    • Reply Aika Callora

Hi, Aly! You can definitely just reorder. The other one will automatically be cancelled after a couple of hours without payment. If you have used points in that order though, I would suggest to wait until the first one gets cancelled.

Hi, Myrene! No, they don’t. 🙁 They only ship directly to the address you have indicated. As per Althea Philippines, they don’t recommend shipping to LBC counter for pickup as it is highly likely that your parcel will be returned to Korea due to “No Person Residing Here” error . 🙂

How long does it have to be in transit? I ordered last dec 19 and paid through Dragon pay the next day. They emailed me and said they’ve shipped the package 6 days ago Dec 22. I checked the tracking # and the latest update was on Dec 22 which said that it was onboard. Will they still update once it arrives in the philippines? And is this normal?
